Check who has accessed your files in SharePoint and OneDrive

Below are instructions on viewing who has viewed your files stored in their SharePoint site or shared via OneDrive.

 

View who has accessed your SharePoint files

  1. Open your SharePoint Site
  2. Find the file that you would like to check
  3. Hover your cursor over the file name
  4. When the information pop up opens, click on see details
  5. On the details pane that opens on the right side of the screen, select Views (This may have a number before it showing how many times the file has been accessed)
  6. All viewers will be listed under the viewers heading

View who has accessed your shared OneDrive files

  1. Open your OneDrive (https://onedrive.northwestern.edu)
  2. Find the file that you would like to check
  3. Hover your cursor over the file name
  4. When the information pop up opens, viewers of the file will be listed at the bottom
