To edit classes, log in to CAESAR with your NetID and NetID password.

Editing Classes

Unforeseen circumstances or changes to schedule can require changes to be made in your schedule. You can use CAESAR to change a discussion section, change grading basis or change variable units for a class in which you are enrolled.

  1. Click Manage Classes.
  2. From the left sidebar, click Update Classes.
  3. Select the desired term and click Continue.
  4. Select the class you wish to edit from the dropdown menu and press the Proceed to Step 2 of 3 button.
  5. Edit the preferences you wish to modify and click Next.
    • If permission is required for the desired course, enter the provided permission number into the Class Permission Nbr field.
    • If the desired course is a variable credit course, enter the number of credits you will receive for passing the class in the Units field.
    • If multiple grading options are available, such as "P/Not Pass", enter the desired grading basis in the Grading field.
    • If a class is full and features an online waitlist (indicated by a yellow triangle on the Class Search screen), you can place a check mark in the Wait list if class full box.
    • You can also change your discussion section or lab time here as well.
  6. Review the page to confirm the course(s) you wish to edit. Click Finish Editing to complete the edit transaction or click Cancel to exit without saving any changes.
    • If the action is successful, CAESAR will display Success in the Message field. If not, errors will be displayed instead.
  7. Click My Class Schedule to review your new schedule.

Swapping Classes

The swap feature allows you to exchange one course you are currently enrolled in for another in which you are not yet enrolled. The system will only swap courses if you are able to enroll in the new one — that is, if there is class space available, and if it’s your registration time.

You can also use the swap or edit features to change lab and discussion sections for a course in which you are already enrolled.

  1. Click Manage Classes.
  2. From the left sidebar, click Swap Classes.
  3. Select a class from your schedule that you wish to swap.
  4. Next, enter the 5-digit Class Nbr and click Enter, or search for the desired class you wish to swap in to.
  5. Select the desired section(s) and click Next.
  6. Enter the appropriate Enrollment Preferences and click Next.
  7. Click Finish Swapping to process your swap request, or click Cancel to exit without saving your changes.
    • Successful enrollments will display a green checkmark next to the class, and unsuccessful enrollments will display a red X. If a class addition or swap is unsuccessful,Errors will be displayed in the Message field.
