Deleting an @u.northwestern.edu, @alum.northwestern.edu, @kelloggalumni.northwestern.edu, @nlaw.northwestern.edu, or @fsm.northwestern.edu (Google Workspace) account as an alum

If you are a current student, Northwestern policy requires you to have an email address that is managed by Northwestern, whether that is a Google Workspace (@u.northwestern.edu) account or an @northwestern.edu account. If you are an alum, however, you are no longer required to have these accounts. You can delete your student Google Workspace account using the following instructions:

Please send an email from the email account you would like to delete to servicedesk@northwestern.edu with a request to have the account deleted, and an alternate email address at which we can reach you.

Note: These instructions will only work for alumni of Northwestern who graduated in 2025 or before. The @u accounts for graduates from 2026 and onward will automatically expire once their NetID expires. If you have an @alum.northwestern.edu account created starting in 2026, you may be able to delete your account through the Our Northwestern portal.
