After you change your NetID password, you might be unable to login to your Outlook desktop client. In Outlook 2016/2013 for Windows, you are unable to change Exchange account passwords. Instructions to change the password outside of the Outlook desktop client can be found below.
- Press the start button or Windows key, use the search bar and enter Windows Credential Manager.
Note: If View by is set to Category, click User Accounts first, and then click Credential Manager.
- Locate the set of credentials that has Outlook in the name.
- Click the drop-down for Outlook, and then click edit.
- Update the password field to the new password, and click save
- If there is more than one account labeled with Outlook, use the Remove option from the drop-down menu in Windows Credential Manager on every other Outlook account listed.
- Try logging into Outlook again. When prompted for username and password, enter ads[NetID] as the username, and the new NetID password for the password field.
