Managing sections or modules on NUsites pages

NUsites templates are made with Divi Builder full-width sections, known as modules, that have the exact Global Marketing branding that our main University website uses. Divi Builder is a drag and drop website builder that helps users with limited Wordpress knowledge create a website. We currently have 13 sections/modules that NUSites users have the ability to use on their website. To see an example of how each of these modules work please visit the following page: http://sites.northwestern.edu/divi-modules/.

If you created your NUsites site using one of our Northwestern templates, there will be existing Divi Modules on the pages. Therefore, you will simply have to edit an existing module with your custom content.

Accessing the Divi Builder

To view and modify the Divi Builder modules, take the following steps:

1. Access your site's Dashboard by going to [Your site's URL]/wp-admin.
   • For example, if your site is willie.northwestern.edu, go to willie.northwestern.edu/wp-admin.
2. From the left menu, click Pages.
3. From the list of pages that appears, click on the title of the page you want to edit.
4. The Divi Builder is shown in the center of the page under a purple banner.

Editing modules on existing pages

1. Access the Divi Builder for your page (see above).
2. Select the accordion button (three horizontal lines) on the module that you would like to edit.
   • Example: If we wanted to edit the text or image within the Alternate Float Module, select the accordion button to the left of Alernate Float.
3. Make any changes necessary.
4. Click Save & Exit to save your page.
5. Important: make sure you click the blue Update button to the right of the page to make sure the changes are published to your page.

Adding a new section or module

To add a new section, or module, to your page:

1. Access the Divi Builder for your page (see above).
2. Below your last module, click the grey plus (+) sign next to the words Insert Module(s).
3. Click on the module you would like to add. For explanations on the modules, please see 87150.
4. Configure your module using the Content, Design, and Advanced tabs at the top of the settings box.
5. Click Save & Exit
6. Important: make sure you click the blue Update button to the right of the page to make sure the changes are published to your page.
