Duo Verified Push Process

Northwestern University uses Duo Verified Push. This article shows what you can expect to see when logging into an authenticated Northwestern system with Duo Mobile using a smartphone and computer.

Logging into a Northwestern System with Duo Verified Push

1. On your computer, log into a Northwestern authenticated system such as NUValidate: https://nuvalidate.northwestern.edu.
2. Enter your NetID and NetID password.
   
3. You'll be prompted on the page to enter the numbers shown into the Duo Mobile app on your smartphone.
   
4. Open the Duo Mobile app on your smartphone.
   
5. In the Duo Mobile app, enter in the code you see on your computer screen (step 3).
   
6. After typing in the code, press the Verify button.
   
7. On your computer, you'll see the success message.
   
8. Next, choose if you'd like Duo to remember you on this computer by either selecting the Yes, this is my device button or the No, other people use this device option as applicable.
   
9. Congratulations! You've successfully used Duo Verified Push on your device. Your computer will automatically redirect you to the Northwestern system you were logging into.
