To securely access University resources behind multi-factor authentication, such as Microsoft 365 webmail and Canvas, Feinberg requires three things: hard drive encryption, an approved anti-virus solution and the Duo Desktop client.
Hard drive encryption
- To encrypt your machine's hard drive as a Mac user, please see these instructions
- To encrypt your machine's hard drive as a Windows user, please see these instructions
- If your Windows machine does not have BitLocker, you must upgrade your OS and can do so by purchasing a Windows 10 Pro license here

Duo Device Health

Once you have full disk encryption and antivirus software, you can install our Duo Device Health application

After you have installed Duo Device Health, encrypted your hard drive, and installed an approved anti-virus program you can successfully connect to Northwestern sites and resources using Duo multi-factor authentication
