To securely access University resources behind multi-factor authentication, such as Microsoft 365 webmail and Canvas, Feinberg requires three things: hard drive encryption, an approved anti-virus solution and the Duo Desktop client.
Hard drive encryption

- Note: Windows Home does not offer support for BitLocker Drive Encryption; you will need to first upgrade to Windows Pro using the instructions below

Duo Desktop

Once you have full disk encryption and antivirus software, you can install our Duo Desktop application

After you have installed Duo Desktop, encrypted your hard drive, and installed an approved anti-virus program you can successfully connect to Northwestern sites and resources using Duo multi-factor authentication
