Granting Access to Remote Support Customer Client (Bomgar) on macOS

How to properly grant screen control permissions to the Remote Support Application when connected with IT in a remote session

This article will show you how to properly grant control permissions to the Remote Support Customer Client. Without this access IT is unable to assist remotely.

 

  1. You will see a screen that says Action Required and may request access to up to 3 different permission settings

  1. Grant Access as needed by clicking on the Grant Access Button next to the red exclamation
  2. When you press the button a System Preferences window will launch open to the privacy tab.
  3. You will notice that the only option to toggle will be for the Remote Support Customer Client

Toggle Access to Remote Support Customer Client

  1. Select the check box and select quit and reopen if/when prompted

Quit and Reopen

  1. Repeat steps 3-6 for as many times you need to grant access to all the required permissions (Screen Recording, Accessibility, Full Disk Access)

Items of Note:

  • If you don’t see Remote Support Customer Client you may need to scroll through the list until it shows

  • Sometimes the grant access button will not open to the correct section (Screen Recording, Accessibility, Full Disk Access). You can manually navigate to the section by selecting it in the left hand column.
