The following steps will help configure multiple monitors on your macOS device.
- Connect your laptop to the external monitor via a display cable, hub/adapter, or docking station.
- A prompt may appear on your computer to allow the device, select Allow.
- Go to the Apple menu > System Settings, find and select Displays.
- Select the Arrange button.
- Each monitor including the laptop screen will appear as a window. To understand which window correspond to the monitor select a window and then a red border will appear around the screen.
- Once you have an understanding of the windows, rearrange the screens by dragging the windows.
- To change your primary display, drag the white toolbar to the monitor screen you prefer to be your primary.
