REDCap (Research Education Data Capture) is a web-based application that Feinberg uses for managing online surveys and databases. More information is available at http://nucats.northwestern.edu/resources/data-science-and-informatics/software-tools-development/redcap.html.
Users can log in to REDCap using either the legacy instance at https://redcap.nubic.northwestern.edu/ or the new REDCap InCommon server at https://redcap.fsm.northwestern.edu/. When accessing REDCap from off campus, please connect through the Northwestern VPN or REDCap SSL VPN (Legacy only) at https://vpn-connect.northwestern.edu/.
REDCap provides:
- An intuitive interface for data entry (with data validation);
- Audit trails for tracking data manipulation and export procedures;
- Automated export procedures for seamless data downloads to common statistical packages (SPSS, SAS, Stata, R); and
- Procedures for importing data from external sources.
