What is Microsoft Project?

A Planner-based project management tool used to create and manage tasks, schedules, resources, and project tracking, with built-in collaboration and reporting.

Considerations

  • Projects added to a Microsoft Teams channel are accessible to all members of that channel
  • Access to the project is based on Teams or Microsoft 365 Group membership, not task assignment
  • Projects are viewed and managed through Planner
  • Notifications may be generated for channel members when a project or tasks are added or updated
  • A license is required to create and manage projects; unlicensed users have limited or view-only access
