Our Northwestern Account Management
Our Northwestern is an information hub for Northwestern alumni. With an account, you can view and update your personal University profile, search the directory, create a new alumni email account, set your email preferences, manage your alum club affiliations, and view your giving history.
Create an Our Northwestern Account
To create an account, please visit Our Northwestern for registration by going to Log In > Create Account. It is advised to register with a personal email, as this email will be used for password recovery for future logins.
Validate your Our Northwestern Account Email
If you already have an Our Northwestern Account, ensure that your account email is a personal email, as this email will be used for password recovery for future logins. You can do this by logging in and going to My Account > Account Settings.
Update your Preferred Email Address
Your preferred email address is where you receive communication from Northwestern and will also act as a recovery method for your alumni email account. It is also advised that your preferred email address be a personal email.
While they could be the same, it is important to note that your preferred email address is separate from your Our Northwestern account email.
To change your preferred email address, update your contact information in My Account > My Information on Our Northwestern.
Alumni Email Account Creation
Northwestern University has partnered with Google to provide email services to all eligible alumni.
After the creation of your Our Northwestern account, you have the ability to create an alumni email account by visiting the Alumni Email Registration page on Our Northwestern.
Eligibility
Anyone with a completed degree from Northwestern University is eligible to receive an alumni email account.
Please allow ~4 weeks post-graduation for our systems to be updated to reflect your alumni status and eligibility.
Address Creation
Your alumni email address will be automatically generated upon registration in the following format:
First Name + Middle Initial + Last Name + Most Recent Degree Year
If you are a Kellogg graduate, you will receive an @kelloggalumni address. All other graduates will receive an @alum address.
These addresses cannot be changed once created.
If you would like your name changed on your Our Northwestern profile prior to creating an alumni email account, you can do so at My Account > My Information. Please allow 24 – 48 hours for processing these changes.
Alumni Email Account Management
Should you forget your alumni email account password, your preferred email address for Northwestern acts as your password recovery method.
Your alumni email account acts similar to a regular Gmail account. Account settings, deletion, etc. can be self-managed directly within your email account.
