Beforehand:
Split exam first

Create the exam in Crowdmark and generate the large PDF of all exam booklets. Save the large PDF file in its own folder.

Open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat Pro DC and select Organize Pages (right-side toolbar) >> Split (scissors icon at the top). Choose the appropriate number of pages >> Split. Many new documents, with numbers in the file name that will fortuitously match Crowdmark booklet numbering, will be dumped into the same folder. Make sure to sort by name.
Printing instructions:
Send the exam to the printer in batched files:

Confirm that copier printing properties are set to double sided and stapled on the top left corner.

Open Adobe Acrobat.

Go to Tools.

Go to Use Guided Actions.

In the ADD AND MANAGE section, click Actions and select New Action (alternatively, go to Tools, then Action Wizard, then New Action).
- In the Create New Action window, click on the Paper Sheet icon (next to “currently open file” as default).

Bulk select the separated files to be printed. To select multiple files at once, hold the Shift key while selecting.
Note: The printer can hold a large number of files in the action, but you may wish to select 50 or 100 files at a time to make counting/sorting easier.
It’s also recommended to select a smaller group first (5–10 files) in case there are any issues when printing because it is difficult to stop the action once it has started.

Go to More Tools.

Click on Print.
- Click on the “+” sign in the middle of the Create New Action window to tell Adobe that these selected files are to be printed.

Uncheck the “Prompt User” box under the print action.

Click Save.

Save under a file name (e.g., “Exam 1 batch 1-50”).

Click on the file name that now appears under the “Use Guided Actions” heading (left side of the Adobe screen).

Click Start. The files will begin printing.

Start over with the next batch of files (if grouped by 50, 100, or some other quantity) and repeat the above steps to build and print the next batch.
