To access team reports along with your own reports in Cognos, you will need to access the Content folder by clicking on the top left hamburger menu.
You can also change your default home screen to Team Content for easier access. Learn how to do this by visitng Setting Your Cognos Home Screen.
On the left side of the UI is the Hamburger Menu. This has replaced the old Navigation Panel from Cognos 11.1. You can create and manage new activities such as creating new content, uploading personal data files, and managing the environment (dependent on User permissions).

|
The Home button appears at the top-left corner of the navigation panel. You can return to this homepage at any time by clicking this button.

Click on the New button to create a new Report, Dashboard, Story, Data Module, Exploration etc.

Click on Upload Data to upload a data file.

Content
|
Access the My Content or Team Content folder by clicking on Content in the hamburger menu. The Team Content folder contains all the published enterprise and shared content that you have permissions to view. The My Content folder provides you with direct access to the content you've saved. This is content owned by you and may only be viewed by you.

Recent
|
The Recent button shows you the most recently used list of content, up to 2 objects (reports, dashboards, data modules, etc.). Objects appear in order based on most recently used. Once an object is viewed, it will move to the top of the list. Click Recent to see what, if any, are the most recently used objects in your environment. Hover your mouse over the icon to the left of each object to identify the type of object. Click outside the Recent panel to close it.

Manage
|
The Manage button will only appear if you are a Cognos Admin. This allows admins to manage accounts, licenses, activity, connections, etc.

Accessing My Content and Team Content
1. Access the My Content or Team Content folder by clicking on Content in the hamburger menu.
2. From 'Content', I select the 'Team Content' tab if it isn't already selected. The Team Content folder contains all the published enterprise and shared content that you have permissions to view. The My Content folder provides you with direct access to the content you've saved. This is content owned by you and may only be viewed by you.
3. You can select either List view or Tile view
4. Filter Cognos objects including reports by clicking on the Filter icon
Copying Objects from Team Content to My Content
1. Under Team Content tab, click on the 3-dot elipsis and choose 'Copy or move to'.
2. Choose My Content and select 'Copy' to copy the report over. Select 'Move' if you want to cut and paste the report.
'Upload data': Adding Data Sources
There are 3 ways to upload data or spreadsheets to Cognos as shown below:
1. The first method is to click on 'Upload and create' and select the data file you want to upload such as CSV or Excel file.
2. The second method is to select 'Upload data' from hamburger menu on top left and upload data file.
3. The third method is to drag and drop your data source file into the home menu. Dropping into the Upload and Create pane triggers AI-generated suggestions for how to display your data, while the Upload pane simply brings your file into your My Content folder.
4. You will now be able to see the data source file in your My Content folder

Creating content from existing data
1. Click the 'Create from existing data' tile to select a data source to create a reporting object from.
2. Click on the desired data source. Note: You will only be able to select data sources and not reports.
3. You can now select which type of content to start building and then save it to your My Content or Team Content folder.
