Some Northwestern websites, such as CAESAR and myHR, rely on pop-up windows to deliver information to you. If you experience problems viewing pop-up windows, make sure that your browser's pop-up blocker isn't preventing them from being displayed. Use the instructions below to toggle your browser's pop-up blocker off/on as necessary.
Google Chrome
- Click the Chrome menu on the browser toolbar.
- Select Settings > Show advanced settings....
- At the bottom, click Advanced.
- Under Privacy and security, click Content settings.
- Click Popups.
- Turn Allowed on or off.
Google Chrome Mobile (Android/iOS)
Android
- Tap the Chrome menu .
- Tap Settings > Site settings > Pop-ups.
- Turn pop-ups on or off by tapping the slider.
iPhone or iPad
- Tap the Chrome menu .
- Tap Settings > Content Settings > Block Pop-ups.
- Turn pop-ups on or off by tapping the slider.
Apple Safari
- Click Safari > Preferences... > Security.
- Click Manage Website Data....
- In the Web Content section, check or uncheck the Block pop-up windows option.
Apple Safari Mobile (iOS)
- Open Settings > Safari.
- Under the GENERAL section, find the Block Pop-ups option.
- Toggle the option on or off by tapping the slider.
Mozilla Firefox
- Select Menu (the three horizontal bars in the top right corner of Firefox) and choose Options.
- Select the Privacy and Security panel.
- Under the Permissions section, check or uncheck the box next to Block pop-up windows.
Microsoft Edge
- Click the More button (the three dots in the top right corner), then click Settings.
- Click View Advanced Settings at the bottom of the list.
- Click the slider under the heading Pop-up Blocker to block or allow pop-ups.
Microsoft Internet Explorer 11
- Select Tools (the gear icon in the top right corner), then select Internet options.
- On the Privacy tab, under Pop-up Blocker, check or uncheck the Turn on Pop-up Blocker check box.
- Select OK.
