Feinberg - Setting up Remote Desktop on your macOS computer

Use these instructions to remote into your FSM PC from your Mac. Note that FSM IT must configure your FSM PC to accept remote connections.

1. Connect to Northwestern VPN on your macOS computer. For instructions on how to setup VPN please go to this page Setting up Northwestern VPN
2. Go the App Store and download / install Windows app.
   
3. Once the application is open you need to set up a remote connection:
   1. Navigate to the top right, inside the app and click on Plus sign > Add PC
      
   2. Enter the PC/Windows Name you are trying to connect to (to find your PC click here Find my PC name (ex. FSM123456.fsm.northwestern.edu)
      
   3.  For credentials, click “Ask when required” and then click on “Add Credentials”
   4. In the Username field enter your NU NetID
   5. In the Password field enter your NetID password
   6. Once complete click Add and Save on the Add PC screen
      
4. Double-click on the setup Connection name
5. A screen will pop up advising you that you are about to connect to your FSM PC - click Continue
