Search for and managing your classes in CAESAR

Log in to CAESAR at using your NetID and NetID password.

You will not be able to register or enroll for classes if you have incomplete Hold or To-Doitems in your Tasks list.


Planning your Schedule and Searching for Classes

  1. Click the Manage Classes tile.
  2. From the left sidebar, click Enrollment Appointment/Dates to verify when you may enroll.
  3. Click the radio button to the left of your desired academic period and click Continue.
    • Before you register, it might be helpful to plan an ideal schedule and a list of alternative classes. There are a couple third-party tools available to emulate class schedules, including Brutus and SerifNU.
  4. Select Class Search from the left sidebar.
  5. Enter a Course Subject and Course Number criteria (if appropriate) and click Search. You can also click Additional Search Criteria to expand your search options and narrow your result set.
  6. To view further information about a class on the search results list, click its respective link under the Section column.

Adding Classes

  1. Click the Manage Classes tile.
  2. From the left sidebar, click Shopping Cart and Enroll.
    • If more than one term is available, click the radio button next to your desired academic period and click Continue.
  3. Enter either a 5-digit Class Nbr or enter Search Criteria to search for a class, then click Select next to the class you wish to add to your Shopping Cart.
  4. Registration options will display in the following screen, which you may be able to modify depending on the class.
    Note: You must register for lab or discussion sections with the lecture. You cannot register for labs and discussion sections independently.
    • If permission is required for the desired course, enter the provided permission number into the Class Permission Nbr field.
    • If the desired course is a variable credit course, enter the number of credits you will receive for passing the class in the Units field.
    • If multiple grading options are available, such as "P/Not Pass", enter the desired grading basis in the Grading field.
    • If a class is full and features an online waitlist (indicated by a yellow triangle on the Class Search screen), you can place a check mark in the Wait list if class full box.
  5. Repeat the steps above to add additional classes to your shopping cart.
  6. When you are finished, check the boxes next to the class(es) you wish to enroll in, and click Enroll to proceed with completing your enrollment.
  7. Confirm your selections and click Finish Enrolling.
    • Successful enrollments will display a green checkmark next to the class, and unsuccessful enrollments will display a red X next to the class. If a class addition or swap is unsuccessful, errors will be displayed in the Message field.

Dropping Classes

  1. Click the Manage Classes tile.
  2. From the left sidebar, click Drop Classes.
  3. Select the classes you wish to drop by checking the checkbox to the left of the desired class(es) and click Drop Selected Classes.
  4. Review the following page to confirm the course(s) to drop. Click Finish Dropping to complete the drop transaction, or click Cancel to exit without dropping your class(es).
    • If the transaction was successful, CAESAR will display Success in the message field. If not, errors will be displayed instead.
  5. Click My Class Schedule to review your new schedule.
