Managing Exchange ORG accounts using the self-service group management tool

The self-service group management Tool (Cayosoft) allows you, as the Primary owner of an Exchange Organizational Account (ORG account), to manage ownership and passwords for that account. There can only be one primary owner. For more information on using this tool see the Cayosoft Knowledge Base.

Log in at adsselfservice.it.northwestern.edu, and enter your own NetID and NetID password when prompted. Note: You must connect to VPN to use this tool off campus.

Viewing your accounts

  1. From the left pane, select Self-Service >My AD Users.
  2. Leave all the search fields blank, then click Search to display the list of all groups you own.
  3. To select a Mailbox, click the check box to the left of the Mailbox's name. To the right of the list, the Actions pane will enabled.

  4. Click Reset Password. A progress banner appears in the upper right hand corner of the window, which will disappear upon completion of the task.
  5. Click the green circle displayed on Activities in the upper right hand corner of the window to display an entry for the password reset action which includes a time stamp.

Creating a user-selected password

Creating a quick reset password

  1. Check the checkbox to the left of the account whose password you want to reset
  2. In the section quick password reset section (lower left, middle section), enter a new password manually or have the system auto-generate one for you by clicking the blue exclamation (!) circle. Important: Jot down your new password. Using quick reset eliminates the option to email the new password to any recipients and will not display the new password anywhere in the system.
  3. Click Reset.

Changing the display name

The only account option you cannot manage through Cayosoft is the display name. To change the display name, send an email message to servicedesk@northwestern.edu and a system administrator will make the change for you.
Requests to change display name for ORG Exchange accounts cannot be done at the Service Desk, these requests are to be escalated to NUIT-CI-CollaborationServices.

Signing out
