Microsoft 365 for Faculty, Staff, and Students

Northwestern University's agreement with Microsoft now provides Microsoft 365 for download on both PC and Mac to all faculty, staff, and active or incoming students registered for a class in the current or following academic term. Faculty, staff, and students may install the latest copies of the software on up to five different computers and, because the applications come directly from Microsoft online, will always have access to the latest version.

Microsoft 365 apps are also available to Northwestern users from the iTunes and Google Play stores. Please follow the instructions on your specific mobile or tablet device if downloading one of these apps.

The Microsoft 365 suite includes the following titles:

 

Computers Eligible for Software Installation

Up to five computers regardless of location.

Download for Faculty, Staff, and Student Use

Log in to msoffice.northwestern.edu using a valid NetID and NetID password, click the install app button, select Microsoft 365 apps, and follow the directions from Microsoft. If prompted with a secondary login screen, use <NetID>@ads.northwestern.edu as the login name and your NetID password as the password.
