If you receive a budget check error on a requisition, the guide outlines the error messages and chart string rules that will help in resolving the error.

Identifying the Requisition Budget Error

After checking the budget on a requisition, you may see the status as Error in Budget Check.

Navigation: NUFinancials > Employee Self Service  > eProcurement> My Requisitions

  1. To find your requisition listed in My Requisitions, search by the appropriate criteria.

  1. For the requisition that needed to be corrected, select Edit from the Actions drop-down menu.

  1. The Requisition Shopping Cart will appear, click the Checkout button.

  1. On the Requisition Checkout Page, click the Error Details link to view error message.

  1. In training example below, the error is No Budget Exists. This includes that no budget has been established on the chart strings.

Chart String Construction Rules

Use this table to determine if a chart string is correct. Find the Fund the chart string uses, and then follow the row across to see what rules apply to each ChartField for that Fund number. The Fund and Account ChartFields are required on every transaction.
