A PIN is a numeric code that is created for each Microsoft Teams user who is enabled for audio conferencing. If the meeting host uses the Teams desktop app to start a meeting, a PIN isn't required. However for call in (audio only) meetings, a PIN is used by the meeting organizer for identification and to start the meeting over the phone.
When users are enabled for Teams Audio Conferencing a welcome email contains their dial-in information and PIN. If users forget their PIN or they cannot find the welcome email, they can reset their own PIN.
How to reset your PIN
- Locate and click Reset PIN from any Teams meeting invitation that you previously created. You may be prompted for authentication, if not already signed in to Microsoft 365.
- The Audio Conferencing page appears. Click Reset PIN
- Please note and retain this new PIN for future reference.
