Northwestern Print: Manually Installing Print Drivers on Windows and Mac

To print to a Northwestern Print MFD, you will need to install the print driver to access print queues and client software, if pay-for-print is required.

Print drivers are available for:

  • Windows
  • Mac

*Note: Web Print is available as an alternative for additional operating systems or as an alternative to installing a print driver

How you obtain the print drivers will vary based on:

  • Who you are (faculty, staff, student)
  • What kind of device you have (University owned, personal)
  • How your device is managed (by local IT, you)

Faculty, Staff, and Students with University-owned, managed computers

Local IT support will push out drivers via Print Deploy. To receive the drivers, ensure you are connected to the university network on campus (plug into wired ethernet or connected to eduroam wireless network) and the drivers will be installed automatically.

To verify you have the Print Deploy, application:

  • Windows - Look for the PaperCut Print Deploy client icon in your system tray near the time and date.

  • Mac - Look for the PaperCut Print Deploy client icon in your menu bar at the top of the screen near the time and date.

If you do not see the PaperCut Print Deploy client, you can manually install the print drivers following the instructions for personally owned or managed devices below.

You may consider deleting your old print drivers to avoid confusion, though they will no longer be operational once the MFD you are printing to is part of the Northwestern Print program.

Local IT cannot automatically push software to devices that are not managed. You will need to download the print drivers manually.

Follow the steps below based on your operating system:

To run the Mobility Print Printer Setup Wizard, you will need administrator rights on the device to run this installer.
