Hello SESP community!
With the Summer Quarter approaching, our team would like to provide a brief update on our current and upcoming technology projects.
MacOS Support App
First up, the SESP Tech team will be deploying a new Support app to all Mac OS devices during the month of June.
Benefit: Provides quick access to key support info and troubleshooting resources for SESP Macs.

Managed Operating System Updates
As a second initiative, will be rolling out managed operating system updates for all Windows and Mac OS devices.
Benefit: Required for SESP compliance with Northwestern Policy.

Duo Changes and Shared Email Mailboxes @ SESP
The third major initiative is directly related to a change Northwestern IT will be implementing on 7/10/24 to the Duo multi-factor authentication tool.
* To proactively address the potential work-flow disruptions, The SESP tech team will be reaching out to all SESP programs and teams currently utilizing a shared mailbox.
Benefit: Northwestern IT driven change to Duo to increases overall security of university systems. The SESP tech team is looking to minimize any disruption to SESP programs and groups.
SharePoint
The final major initiative for this summer is related to the use of SharePoint @ SESP.
Benefit: Standardize privacy management of SESP SharePoint sites. Seeking to avoid potential productivity disruptions related to community member turnover and essential files being stored in OneDrive accounts.
Over the course of the summer, the SESP tech team will be reaching out to SESP programs and teams to help ensure SESP community members are utilizing SharePoint for all essential files.
