ArcGIS

ArcGIS is a geographic information systems (GIS) ecosystem from Esri used for mapping, spatial analytics, and data.  

Northwestern Libraries offer a site license for Northwestern students, faculty, and staff.  The license includes: 

ArcGIS Pro includes AI deep learning capabilities for detecting, classifying, and extracting objects and features in geographic imagery and point cloud datasets.   

Northwestern University Libraries offers GIS support to affiliated students, faculty, and staff. If you have questions, or need help with troubleshooting or spatial analysis, contact gis@northwestern.edu

 

Access

To use the ArcGIS products, first create an ArcGIS account associated with Northwestern.   

  1. Go to the ArcGIS sign-in page 
  2. Enter northwestern in the box for the organization URL. The full URL is northwestern.maps.arcgis.com 
  3. Click Continue 
  4. Sign-in with your Northwestern NetID credentials
