Extensions to Canvas

Teaching & Learning Technologies offers the ability to extend the capabilities of Canvas courses with supported learning apps and digital tools. These resources are extensions to Canvas that can be used in any course at Northwestern to provide an additional tool or functionality for faculty and students.

Visit the Tools & Integrations section of the Canvas Learning Center for details on adding a learning app to a course and information on how to use various learning apps in Canvas.

Current extensions to Canvas include

Service Levels

  • Currently available learning apps are self-service.
  • Newly requested learning apps may take several months to go through a legal and security review process.

 

Available to

  • Faculty

 

Cost

  • There is no cost for most tools.
  • Some tools are licensed on a departmental basis.
