CatConnect

CatConnect is Northwestern's web-based system of record for alumni and donor information. Its modules support school and central Alumni Relations and Development staff in prospect management, gift development, committee and volunteer management, alumni and donor relations, and alumni event tracking.

CatConnect, built on the Salesforce platform, integrates with NUFinancials and Cognos BI reporting, as well as Our Northwestern, the University’s online community connecting alumni, students, faculty, parents, and staff. Northwestern Information Technology works in partnership with Alumni Relations and Development to manage and enhance the technical aspects of the University’s alumni and development systems.

Northwestern University and Alumni Relations and Development maintains and uses constituent information for the purpose of supporting the mission of the University. ARD is committed to the ethical, secure collection and use of information. Acceptance of our confidentiality agreement is required for all users accessing ARD data.

How to Request Service

Click the "Request Service" button to the right.

Multiple teams use CatConnect across the university. Work with your ARD liaison if you have questions about submitting the access request form.  Additional service requests should be directed to the appropriate team based on the nature of the request.
 

NUIT Services
Enterprise Systems (ES) and Application Development and Operations (ADO) team members support CatConnect when modifications need to be made to the existing system, when integrations need to be implemented between CatConnect and other systems, and additional developments as necessary. Common service requests include picklist updates, new involvement values, and data integration issues.

Project Management and User Services
Project Management and User Services (PMUS) is responsible for assigning access, providing training, and maintaining documentation for the systems that ARD supports.

Prospect Management
Prospect Management partners with ARD fundraising staff on developing reports and analyses that help lead efforts to maximize giving from NU's donor pool. Service requests include assignments or changes to prospect records, questions about a gift officer’s portfolio or about prospect management related policies, and reports that involve analysis of our identified prospect pool.

Reporting and Analytics
Reporting and Analytics uses CATracks to provide reports on the data it holds, to build self-service reports for staff, and to execute analytics projects. Service requests include ad hoc programming requests and questions that require statistical data analysis or predictive modeling.
