The Visio License Transfer service allows departments to reassign an existing, active Visio subscription from one individual to another. This process is useful when an employee changes roles, leaves the University, or no longer requires Visio. Licensing is reassigned on a prorated basis according to the University’s annual Microsoft subscription cycle (July–June).
As part of this service, IT staff will:
- Remove the Visio license from the current user
- Assign the license to the new designated user
- Confirm the license appears correctly in the user’s Microsoft 365 apps
- Provide guidance on accessing Visio through Microsoft 365 or the desktop app
This service does not include purchasing new licenses; additional licenses must be requested separately through the iBuyNU procurement process.
