Google Workspace is Google’s suite of email, calendar, Drive, and related tools. In this article, “Google Workspace account” refers to your Northwestern-provided Google account, not a personal Gmail account.
Please note that the Umail website has been retired. You may now activate and manage your student Google Workspace account via
NUValidate.
How do I activate my Google Workspace account?
To activate your Google Workspace account (@u.northwestern.edu, @alum.northwestern.edu, or @kelloggalum.northwestern.edu) please see the Activating Your Google Workspace Account page.
How do I access my Google Workspace email account once I've activated it?
To access your Northwestern Google Workspace email account:
- Go to Gmail.
- Sign in using your full Northwestern Google email address, such as WillieWildcat2030@u.northwestern.edu.
- Enter your Google Workspace account password.
Note: Your Google username is your full email address, not an account alias. For example, WillieWildcat@u.northwestern.edu and not WillieWildcat2030
