Northwestern Print: Installing Mobility Print on Faculty and Staff Computers

Summary

Instructions for Faculty and Staff to install Print queues for Northwestern Print.

Body

Faculty and staff computers not managed by local IT (Information Technology) support teams within the school or department will not get the staff print queues to print in Northwestern Print by default. Users will need to install the drivers via Mobility Print. Mobility Print will allow faculty and staff to print to Northwestern Print from non-managed devices.

Mobility Print simplifies the printing process for your own devices (BYOD (Bring Your Own Devices)) and other end-user managed devices, such as smartphones, tablets, laptops, or Chromebooks. It delivers secure network print services for iOS, Windows, macOS, Android, and Chrome. It allows both managed and unmanaged devices to securely print to an MFD (Multi-Functional Devices) device on your network.

How do I set up Mobility Print?

·         Set up printing on your Mac

·         Set up printing for Windows

To run the Mobility Print Printer Setup Wizard, you will need administrator rights on your device.

The following queues are now installed on your device:

·         BW [Virtual Queue]

·         Color [Virtual Queue]

Both queues will default to duplex printing, but both can be changed to allow single-sided printing when  necessary. The Northwestern Print Standard recommends the BW [Virtual Queue] be your default printer.
