Northwestern Print is only accessible when connected to the Northwestern network via a wired network port, Eduroam wireless or Northwestern's VPN.
To run the Mobility Print Setup, you will need administrator rights on your device.
Computers with multiple users should not use Mobility Print and instead consider using Print Deploy.

Faculty and staff using macOS devices not managed by an IT support team will not have Northwestern Print queues installed by default. How Do I Install Mobility Print on macOS?
- In a web browser, download the Mobility Print client for Mac from https://print.northwestern.edu:9164/client-setup/known-host/macos.html. Select Download.

- If prompted, select Allow to download the Mobility Print client.

- Navigate to your Downloads folder OR select the downloads icon in your browser, then double-click on the installer (it will be named pc-mobility-print-printer-setup-1.0.42[print.northwestern.edu].dmg or similar).

- A new Finder window will appear, double-click on the installer PapcerCut Mobility Print Client.pkg.

- In the new installer window, in the introduction screen select Continue, Continue again and then finally Agree to accept the software license agreement.


- Take the default installation location and select Install.

- Enter your admin username and password for your Mac, which may not be your NetID, and then select Install Software to start the software installation process.

- After the installation process is completed, select Close to close the installer.

- [Optional] Move the installer to Trash and delete the download.

How Do I Remove the StudentPrint Queues on macOS?
By default, Mobility Print for macOS will install all available print queues, including those for student-focused pay-for printing. Follow these steps to remove the StudentPay print queues.
Note: The StudentPay print queues are available for faculty and staff to use for any personal printing needs. To re-add these print queues, simply rerun the Mobility Print client installer or use Web Print.
- Open Print Center by either navigating in Finder to the Utilities folder or opening Spotlight and searching for Print Center.

- Remove any unnecessary print queues for faculty and staff Control clicking on each printer and selecting Remove Printer.

How Do I Configure macOS Mobility Print Authentication to Northwestern Print?
Configuring macOS to authenticate to Northwestern Print requires sending a print job to each printer queue. With secure release nothing will be printed and if not canceled, your print job will be automatically purged after 24 hours.
- In any application that supports printing, e.g., Safari or Microsoft Word, navigate to the File menu and select Print, or use keyboard shortcut Command-P (or ⌘P).

- In the Printer selection, select the drop-down list and then the printer BW. Then select Print.



- When prompted, enter your NetID and NetID password and select OK. Optionally select save to Keychain, otherwise you will be prompted to enter your credentials for every print job. You must update your keychain password every time you change your NetID password. KB: Deleting a password from the Mac Keychain.
- Confirm the job printed by opening Print Center and selecting the BW print queue under Known Printers.
- Open Print Center by either navigating in Finder to the Utilities folder or opening Spotlight and searching for Print Center.
- Select the BW print queue under Known Printer.

- If no jobs are waiting and the print queue contains the information regarding Last Used, your credentials were entered correctly and accepted by Northwestern Print. If there is an error, please consult documentation on Troubleshooting Mobility Print authentication issues on macOS.
- Repeat the above steps for the Color printer.


Troubleshooting Mobility Print authentication issues on macOS
If you enter your Northwestern NetID credentials incorrectly when using Mobility Print on macOS, there is no obvious message to indicate this error has occurred. To confirm a credential issue is not preventing your print job from processing, you must check Print Center to confirm there are no issues.
- Open Print Center by either navigating in Finder to the Utilities folder or opening Spotlight and searching for Print Center.

- Check all printers listed under Known Printers for any that are in an 'in use' yellow icon warning state. If there is an authentication issue, the held print job will state 'Hold for Authentication'.

- Select the lock icon to the right of the stalled print job.

- Re-enter your NetID credentials.

- Repeat until the print job is accepted and no print jobs are listed waiting.
