A Cognos report cannot be saved from a report you've run from the public folders ("Team Content"). You can only save it when the report has been run from your "My Content" in Cognos. It will preserve the data output generated for the prompt values that were used for that moment in time and save it in My Content.
- First, you will need to copy the desired report (e.g., GM045) to My Content. For instructions - including screenshots - please refer to this article and click the section titled "Copy Report View to My Content."
- Locate the copied report in My Content. Use the Run As option to run the report to the output format of your choice. See this article for instructions on using the Run As option.
- After running the report, you can view it by clicking the 3 dots next to the report name and selecting View Versions.
- This will open the View Versions menu in the top right corner. Click on any version to show the output formats that were generated. You can click any output format to view the output.

5. If you do not see your version, click the 3 dots next to the report name and select Properties.
6. When the Properties screen appears, click the Report tab at the top.
7. Click the More Options section to expand it.
8. Find the Display of Report Output Versions setting. If the number value is lower than you expected, increase it so you will see more versions in the View Versions menu.
9. Click the Save button.

10. If your version does not appear now in View Versions, you may need to use Run As to run the report once more.
