Some faculty and staff may wish to pay for their own personal printing in Northwestern Print instead of allowing their school or department to cover personal costs. To pay for personal prints, faculty and staff will need to install the StudentPay print queues using Mobility Print.
Mobility Print simplifies the printing process for your own devices (BYOD (Bring Your Own Devices)) and other end-user managed devices, such as smartphones, tablets, laptops, or Chromebooks. It delivers secure network print services for iOS, Windows, macOS, Android, and Chrome. It allows both managed and unmanaged devices to securely print to an MFD (Multi-Functional Devices) device on your network.
To run the Mobility Print Printer Setup Wizard. You will need administrator rights on your device.
Select the Mobility Print link for your operating system (Mac OS (Operating System) or Windows).
Select the StudentPay-BW-Duplex [Virtual Queue]and the StudentPay-Color-Duplex [Virtual Queue] queues and hit NEXT >.
Enter in your NetID and password, and then hit NEXT >
Hit Finish to complete the installation.
The following queues are now installed on your device:
Both queues will default to duplex printing, but both can be changed to allow single-sided printing when necessary. We recommend that the StudentPay-BW-Duplex [Virtual Queue]be your default printer.
For more information about Northwestern Print including how to release print jobs see Northwestern Print: Overview.
Cat Cash Account for personal faculty / staff printing.
Faculty and staff must have an active Cat Cash account with funds to pay for personal printing. For more information about Cat Cash and adding value to your Cat Cash account see KB Northwestern Print: Adding Value to Cat Cash for Faculty/Staff Personal Printing.
Caution- if you add the studentpay print queues on your university device, pay attention to your default printer. We advise faculty and staff to keep the BW-printer as their default printer for Northwestern Print. That way all print jobs going through Northwestern Print will be paid for by your school or department.
Only select the StudentPay print queue when you want to pay for personal printing.
