Mailing lists are an easy way to reach a lot of people very quickly by automating the distribution of email to all those who subscribe to the mailing list. Mailing lists have been a critical component of scholarly collaboration. Many colleges and universities also use them to facilitate and enhance classroom education.

How to Request Service

Northwestern faculty, staff, and students can subscribe to appropriate lists and/or apply online to request creation of a list as long as the list complies with the University's Listserv Policy.
