Northwestern Print: Print Deploy client overview and installation instructions

Overview

PaperCut Print Deploy is a client application that automatically installs and manages printers on your computer. The Print Deploy client is available for macOS, Windows and select Linux distributions. Print Deploy is not available for mobile devices such as Android or iOS.

Once you sign in with your Northwestern credentials, Print Deploy identifies which printers you can access based on your role and installs the print queues without requiring manual setup.

The Print Deploy client runs quietly in the background and keeps your printers up to date. When printer settings change or you gain access to new printers, Print Deploy automatically updates your printer list. You can also browse available printers and install additional optional print queues as needed.

The client installs Ricoh PostScript universal drivers, which provide more features than the generic PostScript drivers available in Mobility Print. This eliminates the need to manually find, download, and install printer drivers, making it easier to print to any printer enrolled in Northwestern Print. Multiple users can share a single computer and print under their own accounts.

For faculty and staff using devices managed by an IT support team, your IT team will either pre-install the Print Deploy client or make it available through a self-service portal.
