The Business Intelligence (BI) System (also known as Cognos), provides Northwestern with accessible reporting and analytics solutions for University schools and business units.
The BI System includes three reporting and analysis tools, called BI Studios, which can be used to develop interactive self-service reports and predict outcomes based on historical performance.
Tableau and PowerBI may also be used in conjunction with Cognos to create and publish data visualizations and dashboards. DMA manages Tableau and Microsoft Power BI licensing and recommends independent training options for visualization tools.
